The holidays are here! And while desserts and sweets are inevitable, we can cut down on the calories by eliminating some of the carbs in our after-dinner snacks. Kids & Mayor Get an Early Visit from Santa
In just one week, Santa will dash, dance and prance around the globe spreading joy and reigniting the spirit of childhood. YMCA Alexandria kids were lucky enough to get an early visit from Father Christmas himself. Mrs. Claus and Santa stopped by the Alexandria Y on Dec. 12th for their annual gift giving event. Members, staff and volunteers donated and wrapped gifts for children in need of a happy holiday experience. While our staff gave out gifts, every child whispered their hopes and wishes to Mr. and Mrs. Claus. A merry sight to see!

Courtesy of the YMCA of the USA, 5 Ys across the country were asked to share their impactful Youth Development stories on camera. Our very own YMCA Youth & Family Services is filled with life-changing moments and was asked to participate! This inspiring video tells David’s story: an 18 year-old freshman member of YFS’ Man to Man mentoring program, who is defeating the odds in his community.
Help us spread the impact of their awe-inspiring work!
